| BBQ Angel Beaches Part 2 | ||

Summary: An angel descends, a reincarnated sexist turtle argues with her, and Iridescence and Shizuko are there for it all.    |
Glistening sand, beautiful crashing waves, and sparkling clear water make up Center City's beach. The coast stretches out in both directions with an occasional rocky outcrop spreading from shore to sea. Seagulls, penguins, ducks, and dolphins play in the water, more than happy to accept any food a kind soul has to offer them. A small dock where boats can launch or people can fish sits in the ocean, and larger ships and boats are anchored further out. A path from the beach leads to under the bridge that crosses over the Raging. Iridescence is a mage, of great caliber in her opinion! But, she's very specialized. Analyzation magic isn't up her kimono-beach sleeves. But, even if she can't look at it magically, she can at least check it out with her normal eyeballs! Her head lolls back and forth, multi-colored ponytails spilling everywhere. "Yahz, I'd say magical for surez." She scrunches her eyes at the sounds. "If those were demonic chants instead of some kind of heavenly sound thing, I'd say let's disrupt the sand." As it is, she isn't sure what's going to happen. Part of living in Senta. Okay, it's part of existing in the world of TRI. The circles in the sand, unless interrupted, continue their paths. When the first outer two circles connect to themselves, the entire process speeds up immensely, over fifty circles each complete with small runes forming within the first two circles. The light sound of bells get accompanied by the great ringing of a giant one. Not the ear piercing type of bell, but the heavy almost gong style. Clouds appear high in the sky above, a small grouping, that just as quickly are split apart as a beam of gold and yellow light pierces through them to light up the circle and its immediate area. Shizuko continues watching with mild trepidation. In her experience, anything this odd and out of place ends up bad. Like, accidentally summoned by a demon that lives off its victim's wealth somehow. Joke was on him, she's poor as heck, she just spends most of her money on clothes so she doesn't *look* broke. Of course, Iridescence went with... That's beside the point right now, though, isn't it? No, this time it'd be more likely someone trying to shame them for being wealthy or something. Since it's heavenly or something? "We probably should disrupt it." And yet... no one is disrupting it. Call it morbid curiosity, but Shizuko kinda wants to know what's going on, and really... there's only one way to find out. Still, yeah, she's mentally preparing for an armor transfer. Iridescence nods in agreement as Shizuko says they should disrupt it. "Mmhm. Yah, we should." She takes another bite of her blue sludge hot dog, watching and also doing nothing to stop anything. She likes the beach, but she's never got to see this happen. She tries to study the runes in the circle, seeing if she recognizes some of the patterns. That's the problem with magic and runes though, there's so many different kinds! And while she does study, she doesn't study hard. At this point, some of the NPCs have stopped to watch, gathering in small groups, though they're staying WAY further away than Iridescence and Shizuko are. The circles and runes stop drawing themselves, fully completing their patterns. Iridescence might recognize one or two runes having to do with either death or life. And then with one final massive ring all of the bells stop and the angelic singing fades. Simultaneously the light goes completely solid and then flickers away, a few wisps of gold and white motes flittering about. Left on top of the circle is a...sea turtle? It's bigger than a normal one would be, but not by much. Then, an angel simply appears like someone edited her into the scene, floating above the sea turtle. "Your wish to have your next life be a long one is granted. Congratulations on getting to have a long lifespan." The angel is Talentiana, seen her: http://charis2.servegame.com/MuckPics/talentiana.jpg Shizuko takes a bite of her own hot dog, careful as always to avoid showing off that one fang she's got. "Yeah. Definitely should." But then it's most definitely too late, and neither of them have lifted so much as a finger to do anything to actually disrupt it. She watches the turtle and then the angel, listens, and makes her first and second guesses as to what happened. "Wait, so the turtle summoned her? OH! It's a monkey's paw thing, isn't it? Sea turtles live really long, don't they?" And then there's another bite of the hot dog. Yup, just another day on TRI. Iridescence tilts her head to the side slowly. Someone summoned a sea turtle? Wait, now there's an angel thing? "Fwuh...?" She glances over at Shizuko, then giggles softly. "That's gotta be it. Wow. Genie's are dangerous things." She takes the lightest of side steps, just to be closer to Shizuko, for reasons. Life and death runes though. She considers calling out to the angel, but, she almost feels like it's talking in a movie theater when a big scene is playing. The sea turtle blanches up at Talentiana and actually speaks, his voice sounding a tad, well, derpy. "What is this?! You said I'd be reincarnated into a powerful creature that would live without fear of drowning!" The angel smiles, ever so pleasantly, the kind a super model who's practiced it thousands of times in the mirror would have. "Perhaps, little sea turtle, live a better life and you'll have a better body next time." The angel rights herself, wings fluttering lightly and she looks about the beach and all those present. "Remember, thy good deeds have merit. All evil, and good, is borne witness upon thy death. Fear not, those who are wholesome, despair and change thy ways, those who are depraved." Sermon time as well apparently. Shizuko thinks on it for a moment. "I mean... sea turtles technically need to breath air still, right? So he *can* still drown. It just... would take a lot longer?" Oh, look, snarky Shizuko has poked her head out. Usually that only happens when she's 'transformed'. She's... not going to make claims about being good. She *thinks* she tries to be good? But deep down she wouldn't stake a wish on it. She's at least *reasonably* sure she's not evil? But who actually admits to themself that they're evil? Which brings up that self-doubt again. Certainly, making a snarky response to an Angel did not give her 'good' points, at any rate. Iridescence raises an eyebrow as an angel starts talking about good and evil. o O ( Yah okioz. ) She laughs and snaps her fingers, a light peel of thunder coming from them. "Fwuh! You're right!" This, she decides, is worth interrupting things over, so she calls out to the sea turtle and angel. "Did you hear what my girl here said? She says sea turtles can still drown! He could be afraid of drowning even like this!" She has a slight giggle fit, but manages not to snort-giggle. She really loves Shizuko's company. The sea turtle manages to look disgruntled despite having the face of a turtle, it's eyes half-lidding and shaking its front leg fins! "But I went to heaven when I died! I lived a good life!" It's then that the turtle looks over as Iridescence calls out, pointing a fin towards them! "That's a GOOD POINT! I demand a remake! Someone kill me so I can get a new body!" Talentiana laughs very gently, though some of the mirth in the depths of her eyes fades as she looks towards the two girls. "He has been blessed with infinite lungs. As long as he is submerged, he has no need of air or oxygen." She looks back down to the sea turtle. "I don't handle the suicides or those who purposefully have someone kill them." She holds an index finger up and taps it against her nose. "You won't want the angel that will deal with you then, in fact, you might end up in the Underworld. All you've done with this life is complain." The angel's eyes drift back over towards Shizuko and Iridescence. Needless to say, the gawkers are still gawking at the display. A few have fallen to knees and are praying, or pretending to. Shizuko shakes her head at the Turtle. "Nope, nope, she's right, she already had that covered, so you don't get to call foul for that. I tend to forget magic stuff like that sometimes." Nevermind that nanomachines can absolutely get that job done, too. And snark redirected is still snark. More quietly to Iridescence, she adds, "Yeah, I have a feeling I'd rather pass on dealing with that other angel, too." As the angel's gaze moves towards her, she suddenly feels a lot more self-conscious. Looks like Timid Shizuko might be coming back to the forefront again. She's... not going to be falling to her knees in worship anytime soon, though. Iridescence finishes off her hot dog, just so she can put her hand on her hip. "Sorry dudeoz." She calls to the turtle. Wait, does she call all guys dudeoz? She looks at the angel as she speaks to her and Shizuko and keeps herself from stepping back. Then after a moment, she steps forward the tiniest bit, so she'd be the first target rather than Shizuko if something went topsyturvey sideways. She enjoys a good joke and poking fun, but if this angel is like, an actual angel or a genie that looks like an angel, she doesn't really want to get too involved. The sea turtle flaps its fins, smacking sand around himself. "You should have told me sea turtle instead of creature! How am I supposed to pick up chicks like this?!" Talentiana slides her eyes over at Shizuko and Iridescence, though her head doesn't turn, as if weighing whether to engage them again. In the end she doesn't, and her eyes look down at the turtle. "There are many sapient dolphins in the oceans. You'll find many who will mate with you. Farewell, live a good life." Cue church bells, a column of gold and white light, and the angel begins to float up towards the heavens. Or rather, the clouds that appeared earlier. If Shizuko noticed that Iridescence stepped forward in a subtly protective move, she doesn't show it. The 'how do I pick up chicks' part from the turtle gets a look of less amusement from her. She refrains from any further commentary until after Talentiana flies upwards again. "What 'chicks' where you expecting to get as a 'creature' anyway? Seriously, you should have realized 'creature' could mean *anything*." Iridescence cranes her neck back, watching Talentiana fly up towards the clouds. She's never seen this on TRI before, but there's all sorts of strange entities she's never encountered. Her eyes slowly scrunch, lightning sparks flickering around the edges of her eyes. Wait. Was this teleportation? That's super dangerous. Is the angel going to teleport out now? She doesn't like to be around when people start opening up breaches of existence like that, TRI's unstable enough as it is. But, it's happening, so, she looks back down towards the sea turtle, laughing softly at Shizuko's remark. "Fwuh, right? You have to pay attention in class." Talentiana does indeed ascend into the heavens, and upon reaching the clouds they coalesce around her and the light fades away, as does the sounds and angelical singing. Once she's full obscured the clouds themselves simply waft away, leaving the sky a clear blue again. Her work here is done. The sea turtle shakes its fins in anger up after the angel, "I don't want to mate with dolphins!" It then turns its head towards Shizuko and Iridescence. "Some kind of big manly wolf or orc dude! She made it sound like it was going to be epic!" A lot of cameras, phones, and other recording devices were pulled out at this point. Someone out on the far dock has pulled out three different floating holo cams and started recording at one point as well. They seem to mostly be focusing on the angel and sea turtle though, a lot of them moving on back to their beach activites now that the light show has ended. Shizuko tilts her head, one eyebrow lowered. "'A creature that would live without fear of drowning' and your mind leapt to wolves and orcs?" She looks over at Iridescence with an expression that suggests she wants to say 'can you believe this guy?'. Looking back to the turtle again, she says, "You'll just have to flirt with mermaids, then, and hope they're not the carnivorous kind." She's not sure how fast sea turtles can swim, but she's pretty sure your average mermaid can swim faster, if he's normally this annoying and not just because he was reincarnated as a turtle. Iridescence puts her hand on her stomach as she laughs. Shizuko is hilarious! She 'deepens' her voice to try and imitate the turtle's. She's not great at impressions but she does it anyway "Uh, yeah hey, I want to be a creature, so I can pick up the chicks, and uh ya know, I don't want to be scared of drowning, and uhh, yeah that should cover anything angel entity genie person." The sea turtle manages to kind of look angry, but its face isn't really designed for it. "I'd just drowned in the Raging after losing a bet! I had a lot on my mind!" He makes this weird hacking noise, his head arching forward and then back. "How do turtles spit at people?!" Most of the NPC's have lost interest, though a few still watch the exchange. A dolphin, who had been playing beach ball with some kid, makes a series of clicks, whistles, and squeaks, waggling its fins. Anyone speak dolphin? Shizuko looks even less impressed by the fact that the guy went into the Raging because of losing a bet. "Yeah, I'm starting to understand why you didn't get a body upgrade with the reincarnation," she says flatly. She shakes her head and turns away. "I think I want a second hot dog," she says as a way of effectively saying 'I think I'm done with this guy'. She certainly doesn't speak Dolphin, so she has not a clue what that said. Really, it's guys like that that lead to her making decisions that completely upending her life. She doesn't regret that part, even if it's been difficult. Iridescence waves both of her hands in farewell at the sea turtle. "Sameseez." She agrees, turning along with Shizuko back towards her mega-bbq grill setup. "Fwuh, you don't see that every day. I'm glad he's stuck in that body." She laughs lightly, clothing swaying with her movements as she does a light skip and hop to walk backwards in front of Shizuko, arms clasped behind her. "Shizuko, I keep finding new things to admire about you." She winks. The sea turtle gives chase after the two girls, intending to deliver some kind of really, really scathing comeback to their taunts, but he just kind of wobbles in the sand before trying to dig his fins in to move. Yeah he'll make it over to them in maybe an hour or two, but it's just as likely he'll give up before he gets even close, if the dudeoz don't decide to stop him before even that.
