Summary: The angel has left the beach, but now a giant ocean slime appears to crash the BBQ? Will Strike Star save the day at the cost of an abnormally high laundry bill?! |
That said, Iridescence's compliment and wink get a tilted head and a quirked eyebrow. "Really? Like what?" The tone of her voice suggests that no, she is in fact not fishing for more compliments. She's actually slightly confused by the declaration of admiration. The mage girl laughs at Shizuko questioning her, not in a mocking rude way, but just generally enjoying that she would question the statement in the first place. "Oh just about everything you said to the turtle dudeoz. Pointing out the absurdness." She unclasps her hands and taps the side of her cheek. "Fwuh, you have a blatant honesty I don't hear a lot." Probably because many are afraid of her in some way or another. It's not like she's a terrible person, but she does interact with a lot of the gang leaders, mafia bosses, and other such things. A large portion of Richside is considered her -territory-. Not that she tends to talk about that part of her life much, at least not around Shizuko. Yet. The dolphin makes more noises, backflipping in the ocean. A few more dolphins join it. They all seem to be jabbering at...or about...? The sea turtle, who has managed to actually move about a fourth of an inch now. NPC's have started to filter back to their own beach business, though there's still a few lookeyloo's. Shizuko pauses, clearly unsure of what to make of what Iridescence said for a moment. "I mean... I just... call things like I see it. Respect where respect is due. He just... strikes me as a prime example of toxic masculinity." There's some venom in her tone at the very end there, like the concept is something she has a personal hatred of from past experience. Shizuko turns away, not looking at anyone or anything in particular. "And even I lie far too often." Iridescence stops her backwards walk as they arrive next to the mega bbq-grill. "There's never an end to it." She looks over at the dolphins ?blabbering? away. "They're probably examples of it to, but I don't speak dolphinz." She's kind of joking, but it could be true! She tilts her head to the side as Shizuko claims she lies. "Really? Do tell, when's the last time and what was the lie you told?" She's super curious about that! She points at one of the hot dogs and the blue sludge ooze, one of the dudeoz starting to prep one for her. Another dudeoz gives Shizuko a 'You having another too?' expression. Shizuko sighs and nods. No end, indeed. The request for examples of her lies apparently goes ignored for a moment when she nods towards the barbeque master. Yes, she's already said she wanted another, didn't she? But she decides not to dodge the question. "I mostly lie by omission. I lie to my mother almost every other day now. About where I'm going, who I'm out with. She has no clue who I'm meeting up with right now, I just told her 'some friends from school'." There's a sigh as she looks out at the ocean again. "I just don't want her to worry too much about me. Don't want her thinking I'm involved in anything dangerous." She looks like she might want to say something else, but doesn't. Another lie by omission right now? Or just hiding something. The dudeoz do another smooth hot dog flip off the grill, catch in bun, set on plate maneuver. This time they both add the condiments for each girl respectively without asking, then offer the plates over. Iridescence smiles, her heterochromia iridum eyes wandering over Shizuko's features. She holds up an index finger. "I went to UMPUHA as a visitor a few times growing up, so it counts." She winks and takes the plate from the dudeoz, though she doesn't start eating yet. "I don't blame you for keeping her from worrying, yahz? I swear I don't get attacked, attempted kidnaped, attempted murdererered everywhere I go." She laughs again. "Odd things tend to happen more when I'm with you though, maybe it's some kind of fate." She waggles her eyebrows. The dolphins suddenly break off their talk as a darker blue than the ocean round creature ripples up from under the waters and envelopes one of them inside it. The others start smacking the crap out of the creature with their tails and ramming it with their noses. It becomes readily apparent it's some kind of slime. Shizuko takes the hotdog with a nod of thanks, but doesn't take a bite yet. "Yeah, but that was before I transferred in." She shakes her head. "She probably thinks I'm with Basil." Basil Hawthorn, someone *else* from Richside that Shizuko somehow has made friends with, but the Hawthorns are more than a few tiers below Iridescence. "She doesn't know I've managed to get a target painted on my back from some gang member I maimed when they tried to mug me, though. He's tried three times." She looks back to Iridescence, finally, once again sounding a bit annoyed instead of the almost mournful tone she'd been speaking in. "Though I think *you've* managed to do more damage to me than he ever did." As far as the slime is concerned? If Shizuko is aware that a dolphin just got *eaten*, she's not showing any signs of it yet. Iridescence, who has a better view of the dolphin/slime nonsense, only spares it a glance. For all she knows the dolphins were being racist or insulted that slime's mother. Plus, a while back a giant kraken came out of the ocean near here. Sure it got killed with the help of some powerhouse wielding chakra and her, but why tempt fate. Maybe it has a kid waiting just off shore for the next time she decides to take a dip. Also, lightning tends to spark off of her a lot, so shocking everyone around her isn't the nicest thing. The mage decides to take a bite of her hot dog as Shizuko talks, the ooze on her hot dog squirming slightly as she sets it down. "Fwuh! Me?" She thinks about that whole god thing, and wasn't there a news article about them? Or did she manage to squash it before it got released? She doesn't pay a lot of attention to the tabloids. "Welllll, I must be worth the company despite that, since you keep showing up when I invite you." She winks, a little spark of lightning rippling through her hair. The dolphin slime war continues, though they are starting to get slowly closer to shore. More dolphins have come to attack the slime, and a bunch of the humanoids on that area of the beach have started clearing out. There a good thirty to forty yards from the bbq area though. "Did you really forget your direct hit on me? You know, why I actually got injured?" Shizuko lets out a huff and looks away again. Thankfully what news did make it out didn't seem to think Shizuko was worth mentioning other than being an innocent bystander that got caught up in it. Which was actually the truth, sort of. The bystander part went out the window after being kidnapped. Worth the company? Shizuko opens her mouth, then closes it again. Lying by omission. She really doesn't know if she can really trust Iridescence to not just throw her to the side or to suddenly turn on Shizuko if she were to turn down these invitations without a solid reason. There is outright *fear* that Shizuko still has for anyone with Iridescence's level of social power. That ability to just make someone disappear. Shizuko looks away again, this time looking out at the ocean. Oh, look, a distraction! "...Okay, what's happening *now* out there? It looks like they're attacking a blob of the ocean itself!" Iridescence sweatdrops as Shizuko mentions the direct hit. That...well... She swallows her bite and grins despite it not being the greatest thing that happened. "Fwuh, I thought you were talking about some kind of social damage, like reporters or kidnappers coming for you to get to me." Did she ever apologize for hitting her? Oh, it's probably fine either way! She's about to shift the conversation over to what she was starting to hint at when Shizuko brings her full attention to the ocean party. She multi-colored haired mage peers. "Waht." She tilts her head, ponytails spilling everywhere except in her food somehow. "An ocean slime or something?" The so-called ocean slime is getting washed closer and closer to the beach by the waves, and the dolphin inside of it has started to half float sideways in it like a goldfish some kid forgot to feed for a week. The other dolphins attacking it make ripples as they hit it, but it doesn't seem to care, or if it does the damage isn't very obvious. The sea turtle is still there, but at all of this action he is now trying to move AWAY from everything. Shizuko says, "No, I meant literal damage," with a distracted tone. Her attention is now out on the ocean, but she'll realize that implication of being targeted to get at Iridescence later. It's not something she's considered yet. "Ocean slime? Is this something we should be concerned about? I've not taken any dangerous wildlife classes, I've not been planning on leaving the city..." She finally spots the dead or dying dolphin inside the slime. "Should... should we do something?" Iridescence squints her left eye as she watches the 'fight'. "I haven't memorized everything, and ya never know what can arrive from The Conglomeration or Stone Portals." She doesn't mention Synthatek's Arrival Room. Though maybe an organic slime could arrive there? But if it had magic making it exist, wouldn't it just liquify into nothing? She's not the biggest expert. Do something though? She glances at Shizuko and back to the ocean slime. "We...could. Should? Uhmz...which side should we pick to be on?" She wipes her hot dog in some of the blue sludge on her plate and then pops it in her mouth. The ocean slime has made it onto the part of the beach where the ocean waves lap in and out around it. Fully emerged it's about fourteen foot across and nine feet high and it wobbles like jello in a rock tumbler. The dolphins jump from an ocean swell to hit it, backflipping off of it like the greatest of trained acrobats to land back in the ocean, though soon the distance will be too great for them. Shizuko tilts her head. "I mean... I thought those dolphins were intelligent, and it's eating one of them, so..." Why is she hesitating? She's supposed to be a hero, isn't she? From what it looks like, a *child* is in danger and she's hesitating? Shizuko glances at Iridescence and... right, that was why. Her fear of Iridescence. She's afraid that jumping in will 'ruin the mood' or something for this Elite of the Elite. Well, to hell with that. Shizuko looks back out at the ocean. "We save the child. If a predator is hunting in a place this populated, it needs to be dealt with. If it's intelligent..." then it should know what it's doing is wrong. "So... Strike Star Transformation." With that simple phrase said, Shizuko is engulfed in that opaque shining force field to protect and hide her while her clothes are swapped out for her 'armor'. Iridescence sweatdrops again. That's true, the dolphins are intelligent, but the slime might be as well? Fwuh. Then again, who knows what this slime's real purpose is. For all she knows it's eating dolphins to grow into kaiju size and start tearing it's way across the continent or something. As Shizuko takes the lead though, she nods. "Okioz." Although her lightning isn't the greatest for a populated beach. Sure a lot of people have cleared out, but it's lightning, it's going to hit a LOT of stuff other than her target. She hands her plate over to one of the dudeoz. "Start clearing the beach, it's closed today." The black and red ponytails of her hair start to get a subtle magical glow about them. She looks over at Shizuko as the glow from her hair starts to spark and ripple around her, similar to the lightning but a bit more chaotic and somehow faster. The ocean slime wobblejiggles its way onto the beach proper. The dolphins are out of reach, though one tries one last jump and falls short, but manages to sideroll its way back into the surf. From the ocean slimes angle, it's either heading for the sea turtle or the bbq, it's hard to tell which really. Shizuko morphs into a StrikeStar. Behold! The magical girl! This teenager is outfitted in white, gold, and black in an outfit that doesn't look as utilitarian as it should be, considering she's more likely than not in a combat situation. Her oufit is, at its base, a white minidress dress in a very low sweetheart cut combined with a black haltertop, the skirt of which is pleated like a school skirt. The pleated skirt is accompanied by a wide, white bow across her back that has additional golden armor plating on its trailing edges and at the very tips. Across her chest is also thicker gold ornamentation that acts much like a low cut bikini top with additional armoring in the center just above and below. The gold trim also frames the top of her chest, framing her assets nicely while reaching up to her collarbone in a V shape, and with a trimmed red gem in the center. Her boots, too, are mostly black and white with gold trim: They reach nearly all the way up to her short skirt with a black band at top that dips in the front to nearly her knees. At her feet the boots are much thicker, all gold in what looks akin to a set of golden high heels, except in the front they climb up just past her ankles. Her arms are not bare, either. A set of white sleeves reach from her wrists only up to halfway up her upper arms. At the top is what looks like a cuff with black trim, then at her elbows the white material puffs out. A red gem matching the one on her chest adorns each of these sleaves just above her elbow, and across the back of her forearms is a set of golden bracers. Finally, a golden winged motif hairpiece holds back her ponytail, itself reaching nearly to the top of her skirt. Truely a lovely vision! This isn't everything, though. Perhaps they're floating around her, or perhaps they're attached to her, but there are eight floating devices that are always near her. The two that look attached to her arms when not in use look like a thick spike with flanking wings all set into a golden housing, the wings folded in when still on her arms. The other six are on her skirt when not in rest, and appear much simpler, each being a flattened oval shape with a golden ring about three-fourths the way back (or up when on her skirt). http://charis.servegame.com/triwiki/images/d/d9/StrikeStar.jpg The light clears, and there stands Super Magical Ultimate Strike Star! Well, okay, there's absolutely nothing magical about that whole clothing teleportation sequence. Strike Star doesn't waste any time, using her drones in their stored positions to immediately fly over to the scene. . o O ( I really hope I'm not misreading the situation here... ) Straight over the turtle without even a thought towards him, she flies to interpose herself between the slime and anyone else on the beach. Which happens to be, from the direction of its travels, said turtle and Iridescence's dudoz. "Put the child back," she says towards the slime, kinda hoping it's going to listen to her, but honestly not expecting it. "Or I'll do it myself," she finishes, punctuating her statement with her forearm drones activating their beam swords. Iridescence actually thinks it's hecka kewlz when Shizuko transforms like that. Maybe she should start working on her space magic more than her time magic so she can try to figure out how to create some kind of transformation for herself. Ah, who is she kidding, she'd never get around to it. She crooks her fingers as she aims them towards Shizuko, placing her other hand over her heart. The black and red magic ripples off of her into runic circles, similar ones appearing around Shizuko, unless she has some kind of magic blocking thing up of course! If she doesn't, the black and red glow will form around her, as it does around Iridescence, altering the time flow around them both so everything about them, is well, hasted. "Yah!" She calls out, she's going to head over closer in a moment, she just wanted to finish her spell first. As Shizuko flies past the sea turtle, he looks up towards her and actually attempts to do a wolf call at her. "What a thing of beauty!" Yeesh. The ocean slime wobblejiggles as Shizuko addresses it. It's insides churn a bit, and the small dolphin inside is shook around roughly. Rude? The dudeoz have started clearing the beach, they're polite at first, but one person refuses yelling something about it being a free continent. "Yeah. You're right." One of the dudeoz says, "Which is why we can do this." The man is quickly manhandled, gagged, hogtied, and carried off. Strike Star, frankly, still can't really tell if the slime has anything remotely resembling intelligence or not. "...I'm wasting my breath, aren't I?" The magic hits her, and it does take her a slight off guard as everything around her seems to slow down. She's not that slow to the uptake to not figure out what's going on, though. A quick glance is spared towards Iridescence to confirm she's the source of the magic, then it's back to attention on the enemy. It's clear to Strike Star that, if the slime has intelligence, it's taunting her by jostling the dolphin. "Okay, then." She sets herself flying towards the slime again. For now, she's forgoing having the drones separate from her, instead stepping into the fray more directly. Honestly, she's not sure if Iridescence's spell will work on them if they're separated, and she suspects if that's the case, the time dilation between them and herself will... cause problems. Strike Star wastes no time, striking with the beam swords in a broad slash. She really doesn't know much about slimes. She has no clue if this will essentially break surface tension and cause insides to spill out, or if it's going to do, well, basically nothing. But she's going to have to find out. Iridescence starts running over towards Shizuko and the Slime, which isn't the next bit hit comedy series, but might be the next big action packed anime. She's fast now, relatively to everyone else except Shizuko, and clears the distance in moments, though she doesn't draw in close to the combat. She's not a martial artist. Gymnist, yah, but not so much with the CQC. The red light around her fades, getting replaced just by the black glow. She presses her finger on the air before her, a black spark igniting onto it and she slides a big circle, a loud scratching sound like someone running their fingernail across wood (not a chalkboard, gross!). She then starts drawing a square around the circle. Yeah, casting even while hasted takes a while. The ocean slime dodges! Well, it jigglewobbles sideways, but it's not moving nearly as fast as Shizuko. It doesn't move fast in the first place! It's body smokes, burns, bubbles, and fizzes into a blue cloud as the beam swords slash into it! It creates a long gash across it, which then EXPLODES outwards in a massive outpouring of blue goopey sludge, far more than looks like should be contained in it. Maybe it was densely packed? It also happens to be projecting itself towards Shizuko, hoping to get her all gooped up and clogged down. The dolphin is flooding out along with it as well! Surface tension it is! And it's a lot more pressure under that membrane than Strike Star thought there'd be, judging from that explosion of water... scratch that, slime! YECH. Definitely time to retreat! Strike Star flies backwards away from the approaching slime. Perhaps, if she'd not been hasted, it would have managed to catch her, but with that boost she's able to stay out of its range, at least for the moment. Oh, right, the dolphin child. It's already out of the slime? Honestly, Shizuko didn't think it would be freed that quickly. With it flowing along with the slime reaching out at her, Strike Star's beam swords shut down. She doesn't want to accidentally hit it now that the slime is much more free flowing! Iridescence actually hops backwards a bit as the slime starts spewing its innards or...maybe it's an attack of its slime insides?... towards Shizuko and in somewhat towards her. But she's far enough away and fast enough that nothing gets on her. The black lines in the air her finger scratches move with her. She finishes her circle square diagram and then deftly scratches three runes on the inner circle. There's a black flash of light from the entire design which then fizzlefades, however a large eight by eight foot of pitch black stone-like material appears in the air above the slime, though it's not directly above it, a bit to the side. She was trying to make sure she wouldn't crush the dolphin. Although now the dolphin's been expelled, but...she wasn't going to start the whole thing over. Anyway, that giant block is going to fall as fast as it appears. Didn't she say something earlier about teleportation magic being dangerous? Maybe that's just dimensional teleportation. Plus, she just altered the space, it's technically not teleportation! ...maybe. The ocean slime makes loud bubbling waughling noises, almost like it's puking itself out of itself, but with a lot more squelchy noises. Whoever made it didn't design it to be slashed open like this apparently. It just keeps flooding from the inside out, and just when it starts pulling the two seams of itself together, the giant block slams down onto it. Exactly what you'd expect happens when something solid impacts something with a jello consistency, is squishes out. A combination of exploding and chunking happens, long strands of the slime just slurp everywhere hitting anything nearby, which isn't much except maybe Shizuko and the dolphin. Other parts have become slime chunks, spattering this way and that all across the beach. Some of it lands on the bbq and starts getting grilled. One of the globs lands near the contained of blue sludge condiments. They look really similar next to each other like that. The dolphins in the ocean squeak and swim back and forth, obviously in distress and wanting to get the slimed dolphin back into the water quickly. Strike Star flies (technically, the drones are carrying her) towards the dolphin child, especially as she sees that the slime is trying to put itself back together again. "Ohhh, gross," she says before forcing her mouth shut as much as she can. Do NOT want to get any of that in her mouth, and she's definitely going to want a shower after this... because she's not going to be able to grab the dolphin to bring it to the ocean without getting the slime on her. Scratch that, there's no way she's not getting completely and totally COVERED with slime when that black stone drops down and makes the slime just explode EVERYWHERE. Strike Star is definitely glad she got her mouth shut before that slime explosion. There's a quick annoyed look sent Iridescence's way before Strike Star just fully hugs the dolphin child to herself to get it back to the ocean. It's not easy, and four of her drones detach to help her get a better hold, but the 'magical' girl manages to get the dolphin child back to actual ocean instead of super slimy 'ocean'. Iridescence's mouth opens wide in a 'Oh wow that just completely coated Strike Star in slime' shape. She holds her hands up in surrender as Shizuko shoots her that look, giving an apologetic smile. "Sorry, sorry!" She hops back a few times as slime chunks land around and...kind of everywhere as well. She didn't want to go interact closer with the slime, thankfully Shizuko is handling the dolphin rescue. That massive block of stone isn't going anywhere either. Is the slime dead? If it is, she'll just hang back for a moment and wait, if it isn't she'll start casting again. The slime is either dead, or has been so damaged it's no longer able to move. Most of it was spewing out, but after that impact it's now been half-squished, and the main body of it has started to separate like a poorly cooked hollandaise sauce. Safe to say it's just going to either melt into nothing or possibly turn into smaller slimes at some point. Who knows how this particular slime works! The slime itself that gets on Strike Star is horribly sticky and yet slimy and unsticky at the same time, thick, and gooey. It smells like blueberries though! With the help of the drones she brings it back into the ocean proper. The dolphin's start to flip and swirl all squeek with delight around her and the dolphin child, which wiggles itself to be free. It has a lot of slime on it, but it SPEWS its blowhole, sending a glob of it clear and into the air. Hopefully it doesn't splatter on top of Shizuko's head. Strike Star lets go of the child dolphin as soon as she thinks it has enough room to swim. She doesn't really go that far into the water. Admittedly, when she let the dolphin child go into the water, some might have described the process as 'dropping' rather than placing, but when it's THAT slippery and squirmy... Yeah, that's the only way it's getting down. If any of the globs from the dolphin's blowhole got on her, she honestly couldn't tell the difference anymore. Strike Star is currently colored blue from slime. Strike Star makes her way back towards the barbeque site giving the remains of the slime a wide berth. Yeah, she's not taking chances yet if it's fully dead or not. Approaching Iridescence, she says with a flat tone, "You need to work on your friendly fire issues." This is not the first time with her. Iridescence presses her lips into a thin line and scrunches her eyes at Strike Star. "Fwuh, yah. That waz..." She wants to say unexpected, but did she REALLY expect something different when she dropped the heaviest substance she's ever encountered onto it from above? "...unfortunate!" She then claps her hands as the red black magic haste expires on the both of them. Little lightning sparks between each clap, making it sound more like a small thunder storm going off. "Great work though! As always, I'm so impressed by you!" The smell of grilled blueberries fills the area as the chunk of slime that landed on the grill, grills. "Kind of have a little somethin' somethin' all over you though." She winks, obviously referring to Shizuko's new slime coating. The beach has been emptied of almost everyone. There's a few stragglers the dudeoz didn't get rid of, but they are few and far between. One was the camera person way out on the dock, but they're packing up and leaving as well. Beach day seems to be over for most people. The dolphins squeek and chitter with each other, swimming around the rescued child, a few of them are obviously saying things at Strike Star, probably words of thanks, but you never know with dolphins. Strike Star gives Iridescence an annoyed look through the entire pause between 'was' and 'unfortunate'. With the effects of the haste spell wearing off, she slumps ever so slightly. "Thanks, I think." Shizuko is one of those people that have a hard time processing compliments. The second part, though? "Oh, really? I hadn't noticed, thanks for pointing it out," she says with a flat tone. With people cleared out and the slime clearly not moving anymore, Shizuko lets the 'transformation' of the 'magical girl' form go away, once again being covered in the opaque light as her clothes are swapped and hair restyled to how it was before. "GAH! I was hoping it'd bounce the slime off or something, ew ew ew EW!" She's shaking her arm to get as much slime off as possible. It's possible that she'd be paying actual attention to what the dolphins were doing now if she could understand them at all, but as it is, she simply gives them a wave and a decidedly fake looking smile. Closed mouthed as always, though, she always avoids showing teeth. Strike Star morphs into a Shizuko. Iridescence can't help but give an apologetic shrug, then hops back as Shizuko shakes her arm splattering slime goo around! "Fwuh, careful!" She's one to talk! A piece does splatter on her right leg though below the knee. "Agh. It's kewl, it's kewl." She says, waving her arm dimissively, making her kimono styled sleeve billow about. She reaches down and starts wiping at it with her sleeve. It's not like she does her own laundry or something. "I was wondering if it'd come off when you transformed." She laughs lightly, straightening up. There's still a bit of slime on her leg, but most of it is on the sleeve now. Where was her hot dog? Ah, well, she ate enough of it anyway. Or did she finish it? Bah, she decides not to care. She goes back to her chair, but it's got slime chunks too. Uh. She decides to just lean against a clean spot. "So, Shizuko, now that we have some privacy. You can really handle yourself, yah? Wonderin', you ever thought about a job in security and protection enforcement?" Shizuko is fully in snark mode still, not the shy, fearful mode she was in before the slime showed up. So no, she's not apologizing for getting some on Iridescence, even if it wasn't intentional. "I was hoping it would, but I don't really know how that kind of thing works. Ugh." At least she's now trying to shake the slime off in a direction *away* from Iridescence. There's a hint of a grimace at the 'now that we have privacy' opening, but the followup was... not what she was expecting. "Uwah?" Is all she can react to that at first. "Uh... No, actually, I've not. Actually, I'm not sure if I can actually use it for profit, I might need to check the Eula..." because even if there's no laws here, it actually can mean contracts can be even worse. Not that anything involving her 'powers' was made in Senta. Was there even a Eula? She's not actually sure, she was so excited when she got the 'powers' that she just breezed through a lot of things at the start... Iridescence hmmmm's at that, resting her hand on her hip and drumming her fingers. "Welp, tell ya what, yah? Check it out if ya can. I don't really do the direct hiring but I can pick and choose when I want too. I'd even be kewl with a retainer thing. Ya know, if I knew trouble was brewing and we needed to defend some of my-" She laughs "-some of Richside." She also leaves out the whole attack part, but ya know, she isn't super big on expanding what she holds, but one of her peeps brought it up in a meeting the other day, so... Shizuko is lost in thought for a moment. Really, she's actually looking over the agreements made when she first became Star Strike. It doesn't read like any Eula she's seen before, it's in more plain language, sometimes flowery in a faux magical kind of way. Whoever her matron is, she apparently had fun in writing this out in the spirit of 'magical' girls. Still, she isn't completely oblivious, and the image in her mind of being reduced to one of the 'dudeoz' makes her visibly flinch. THAT is something she most definitely does not want. "...From what I understand, I'm not prohibited from making any money off of it. I am, however, prohibited from using it in a manner that is, and I quote: 'Against the benefit of society'. I *think* that means I can't use it for evil purposes." Shizuko tilts her head and looks at Iridescence. Defending Richside? That is the most well defended place in Senta. Shizuko has valid reasons for going to two different places in Richside, and she's still terrified setting foot in that area of town every day. Not that she's actually gone to Iridescence's place before, she mentally notes. It's probably for the best that Iridescence left out the attack part. That definitely would have pushed Shizuko away. Iridescence furrows her brow at the evil purposes thing. "Evil purposes?" She then ohs! "Right! That'd be bad for the magical girl image." She smiles and waves her hand dismissevly again. "It's okay, it's okay, was just a thought!" Plus, the against the benefit of society sounds like shift business. That kind of wording can be interpreted a lot of different ways! It probably wouldn't get past one of her contract handlers. She winks and goes over to the grill pulling it closed because the cooked slime blueberry smell is starting to turn into burned blueberry charcoal smell. She dusts off her hands. Shizuko nods. "Yeah, that and I'm guessing my matron simply doesn't want her powers used for bad. I don't think she's particularly concerned about image, considering I actually don't know who she is." Why no, she's completely unaware that Big Sister herself showed up in front of her using an old form. She's looking distracted again. "Ah, there it is. Yeah, I apparently need to send a request form for me to use it for any sort of profit." It must be very odd to people not from Synthatek to see someone browsing computer files in their head. She may be poor now, but her family used to be fairly well connected on the other side. Shizuko mumbles at the smell of everything, "I think I'm going to avoid blueberry flavored stuff for a while after that." Iridescence is also super tech adverse. Well, she doesn't mind technology, she just hates using it! Like how the bottom hem of her kimono skirt thing starts making a beeping sound. She nods, her ponytails swaying. "At least you can try to get money if you need it and they say okay." Now she wonders who exactly has Shizuko under their thumb. She doesn't know who she is, which could mean all sorts of things. She's curious. She might pry. Well, not today. "Fwuh, for realz. Like, that condiment I put on my hot dog was blueberry flavored too, now I'm over it." The beeping grows faster and more insistent. Iridescence makes a 'uuuuugh kill me' eye roll and then reaches down, pulling the small communicater ear piece out and sticking it into her ear. "Whaaat?" She looks at Shizuko rolls her eyes again. "Yah? K. Sure, just give him a new phone coupon and a medical credit or something for Synthatek, I bet he'll never cross the Raging to cash it in. Wuht. Curses? I don't care about news stories." She raises an eyebrow. "Just ignore it." She pulls it out of her ear and deliberately tucks it back into the small hidden sleeve at the bottom of the inside of her skirt, straightening back up. Shizuko once again nods. "Yeah, I think it's, again, to keep an eye on what I use it for. I've pretty much just been using it for defensive reasons. Either for myself or others. And for just going around the city," she admits. Hey, using it to fly around and explore the city is not 'against the benefit of society'. "Honestly, I've never considered using it to make a living. Huh." But now that idea is in Iridescence's mind, she knows, and she's worried it's something that will come up again. A lot. Hopefully the concept of blueberry flavored hot dog sauce doesn't come up often again, either, because right now that just sounds *wrong* to Shizuko. Shizuko raises an eyebrow and tilts her head slightly at the odd usage of a device she's fairly certain is not meant to be used while being held that way. Nope, not gonna tell Iridescence she's using it wrong. "...Please tell me they didn't get me on camera..." Iridescence was definitely using it wrong. But the people on the other end deal with because, well, she's da boss! She DOES remember Shizuko doesn't want to be in the news, or on camera. "Fwuh, I told my dudeoz to make sure there weren't any reporters and such around, but one slipped through somehow." She holds up a hand to assuage Shizuko's fears. "They only reported on the turtle thing. I feel like the slime was bigger news." She shrugs. She doesn't REALLY care about news outlets and the like or what they say, but, "I told them to tell me if someone started spilling stuff while we were together." She glances down at the hem of her skirt. She still is irritated they use that to contact her though and always insist she keeps three on her at all times. Fwuh. She looks at Shizuko and the slime all over her. "Yah, maybe we should call it a day. That slime doesn't look super comfy on you." She reaches down and scratches where it's still kind of stuck on her leg, flicking pieces away with her fingernail. Shizuko lets out a sigh of relief at the news that she... probably didn't make the news. She really, *really* doesn't want to end up in the public eye. She already stresses out about just being in Iridescence's eye. "Yeah. Probably. Unless they just don't find it as easy to spin the whole slime thing some way." At the suggestion of calling it a day, Shizuko nods vigorously. "I. Need. A shower." Iridescence flat eyes, "I can't begin to understand the brain of a reporter. Like, bros, chicks, just live your life and stop worrying about other peeps!" She nods in agreement about the shower. "Fwuh! At least it smells like blueberries, though, yah, like you said maybe no blueberry stuff for a while." She then moves forward to try and TIGHT HUG Shizuko, knowing full well she's going to get slime all over her. "Thanks for coming to my BBQ beautiful! I swear I have days where nothing eventful happens!" Shizuko nods again. "True. At least it doesn't smell like rotting fish. I don't think I'd still have the hotdog in me if it did, if you catch my drift." And then TIGHT HUG. Shizuko absolutely freezes at the hug. It's certainly not what she was expecting, especially considering she's covered in blueberry flavored goo. And that's the end of snarky Shizuko. Suddenly much more aware of her surroundings, she's code switched back into the shy and fearful mentality that she came in with, her face going red under the blue sludge. "Uhhh, n-no problem. But, I mean, really, a day or twelve with nothing eventful can be... nice." Iridescence gives Shizuko another tight squeeze and then unsquelches, slime goo oozing out in strands between them. Gross. She steps back further, wiggling her arms to break the strands off. "Yah. We've had a couple outings now though." She says and waves her hand at a dudeoz in the distance and points up. The dudeoz puts a hand to his ear and raises his hand in acknowledgement. "We can probably advance things." She winks and smiles. "Theater night next time, my place. Figure out your favorite flick!" Before she finishes her sentence a her limo styled hover car is traveling across the beach, settling down next to them. The driver is skilled enough that the sand and dust it kicks up is NOT directed at the two girls. Shizuko shivers slightly at the slime trailing between the two. So. Gross. Shower. Needed. "Advance?" she asks, not connecting what Iridescence is talking about yet. "Theater? Your-" She cuts herself off as she Gets It this time. It's like that other time when it took her too long to register that Iridescence had used the word 'date' before. Shizuko keeps forgetting this, that Iridescence has that idea in her head that she might actually feel something for her. It just... feels too foreign a concept to Shizuko that she's anything more than a plaything to someone as rich and *powerful* as Iridescence. Yes, Basil is also rich, but a different tier entirely. With Iridescence, it just feels like it's only a matter of time before the mage grows bored with her and tosses her aside at best. All these thoughts going through her head as the hovercar comes to set down nearby. "Uh, yeah, I'll figure it out," she says somewhat dumbly, not really thinking about what she's saying. Iridescence claps her hands twice, lightning and a few ?quiet? peels of thunder echoing. "Rawksauce! Can't wait, movie date!" She waves her hand as a dudeoz opens the door for her limo and she climbs inside, again not caring she's going to make a mess of the interior with all of the sticky slime goo. "Bye Shizuko!" She calls, waving again as the limo door is closed and the hovercar hovers away! The dudeoz looks over at you, or well, turns his head since they all wear dark sunglasses, and gives a solid nod, more come over and start packing up the beach BBQ gear, chair, and changing room. | |
